Wildfire Engulfs Suburbia: Thousands Evacuate as Flames Spread Unchecked

A swiftly advancing wildfire raging in New Jersey has compelled tens of thousands of individuals to leave their residences.

Officials in the Garden State said over 1,300 structures were threatened and about 3,000 residents have been evacuated due to the Jones Road wildfire in Ocean County.

The New Jersey Forest Fire Service reported that the blaze had quickly expanded to cover an area of 3,440 hectares (8,500 acres).

Because of the fire, a section of the Garden State Parkway, one of the state’s most heavily used roads, was shut down on Tuesday. It resumed operation on Wednesday morning.
