Host of "Escape To The Country" Fires Back at Couple With Impossibly Long Wish List: "Are You Kidding Me?!"
A host from "Escape To The Country" exclaimed, "'Are you serious?!" upon encountering a pair of viewers who presented the most extensive wishlist ever seen on the program.
Steve and Mark, who have been residing in Winsford, Cheshire for eight years as a married pair, expressed their desire to relocate to Cumbria.
Host Denise Nurse took on the task of locating their ideal residence among their preferred vacation destinations.
The couple shared what they aimed to discover in their new home, and Mark emphasized: "We require ample space in our new house for our costume collection since we frequently host." Eurovision party every year.'
Along with room for party supplies, they wished to have a large country-style kitchen, as well as various other amenities.
In addition to everything else, they’re counting on their £380,000 budget to provide them with three bedrooms, space for at least two vehicles, a studio for Steve’s artwork, a garden large enough to accommodate a grapevine along with chickens, dogs, and maybe even one or two alpacas,” said Denise.
'In addition, they prefer to be close to a railway station.'
The host disclosed that the list of requirements was 'more extensive than anything I've ever encountered on Escape.'
When Denise met up with Steve and Mark, she playfully took out a lengthy paper list detailing all their desires and requirements.
"Alright both of you, before we begin, I need to clarify something about this wishlist," she said with a jest.
The pair watched as Denise started to unfold the list and recite: "'Three bedrooms, we're looking for charm, yet also desire plenty of natural light, avoiding small windows, wanting ample space inside, a communal kitchen area, large enough to fit an island or a butcher-block counter."
'Room for hosting Eurovision parties, wait, space for storing Eurovision outfits, we’re becoming quite particular now.'
'A spot for Steve’s vehicle, space for Mark’s car, proximity to a railway station, close enough to a village or a town yet not at their central locations, naturally!'
Near one pub, near another just in case the first one is shut, come on you two! Did you think of everything?
The pair chuckled and remarked, "We're rather gregarious folks!"
'Close-by post office and an alpaca,' she chimed in before sliding her finger, 'Seriously though, are you kidding? I’m all about grand aspirations, but this really takes the cake.'
Steve and Mark jokingly said, "Looks like there’s room for more writing if you feel so inclined!"
At the conclusion of the episode, though, the pair became more inclined to loosen their list of criteria.
'Denis mentioned that although she initially provided an extensive list to begin with, they might not require it now.'
They concurred, and Steve clarified: "Exactly correct. When we began this process, we believed we required everything on our comprehensive list since those were the items we considered essential at the time. However, now we realize that we can do without the two pubs and the post office."
'Mark added that all we needed was the sense of having truly discovered our new home.'
The pair were smitten with the mysterious house Denise showed them and concurred that 'it had a homely feel.'
They expressed their gratitude to Denise for her assistance and mentioned they plan to revisit the house and investigate the nearby region.
